Manchester United failure Alexis Sanchez has sensationally admitted that he wanted to leave and return to Arsenal after his first training session.
Sanchez The two-year stint at Old Trafford was a disaster and he finally ended his time there recently after making his loan to Inter Milan permanent.
The Chile star never found his way at United and scored just five goals in 45 appearances before joining Inter on loan last summer.
Sánchez simply fell short of expectations at Old Trafford after switching places with Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a trade with Arsenal, where he had scored 80 goals in four seasons.
Sánchez admits that he was quick to make the decision and in a video on Instagram he explained his version of events.
Sánchez said: “I accepted the opportunity to go to United, I felt tempted and it was a good thing for me, I really liked this club as a child. Finally I signed but did not ask for information about what was happening inside the club.
“Sometimes there are things that you don’t realize until you get there, and I remember the first training session I had, I realized a lot of things.
“After the session I came home and told my family and my agent ‘Can’t you break the contract to go back to Arsenal?’ They laughed, I told them that there is something that does not suit them, that does not seem right.
“But I already signed, I was already there. After the first few months I still had the same feeling, we weren’t united as a team at that time ”.
Sánchez had initially agreed to join Manchester City, but City were unable to meet their high salary demands and United went on to sign the 31-year-old.
“I tell you my experience, journalists sometimes spoke without knowing the facts and it hurt, they had no idea what was happening inside the club,” he added.
“They said it was my fault, and this and that, but sometimes a player depends on the environment, on the family that is created around him, and I think that at that time we were not really a family.
Abandoned by Mourinho
“And that translated into the field, and since there had to be someone to blame, they blamed me.”
Sanchez says being eliminated for a game against West Ham, which United lost 3-1, was a low point.
“I remember a game against West Ham, I was not chosen and that never happened during my career,” he added.
“That changed a lot, it bothered me a lot and that day I told myself that you couldn’t go from being one of the best players in the Premier League to that in five months.
“That bothered me a bit, I got home and was very sad about what happened, the next day I did a double training session, as always, I demand the best of myself in my work, I love what I do. football a lot ”.
