SP Balasubrahmanyam passed away in Chennai on September 25. He was 74 years old.
Moments after the death of veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam (SPB) on Friday, personalities from all camps expressed their deep anguish and condolences. Eminent personalities from music, film and politics shared what SPB meant to them.
Kamal Haasan released a video tribute to the late singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who passed away on Friday. Kamal, in his video tribute, said that SPB’s fame will live on for another seven generations.

Veteran Tollywood actor Venkatesh Daggubati tweeted: “It is very sad to hear the news of SP Balasubramaniam Garu’s passing. Today we have lost a legend. I had the privilege of working with him on some of my best films like Prema and Pavitra Bandham. Your legacy will live on in the Lord! My deepest condolences to the family. D.E.P.”
Tollywood actor Mahesh Babu also took to Twitter to express his condolences on the passing of SPB. “Unable to process the fact that #SPBalasubramaniam garu no longer exists. Nothing will ever come close to that soulful voice of yours. Rest in peace sir. Your legacy will live on. Our condolences and strength to the family, ”he said.

“Today is a dark day for the music industry as a whole… It is a great loss. His voice was very beautiful. He was a very happy person, ”said actor Radikaa Sarathkumar. Looking back on his filming times with SPB, he added that he was a jovial and sweet person. “Since yesterday, I have felt very sad. I was hoping that he would return … His voice will last for eternity, ”he said.
Speaking to News18Tamil Nadu, director SP Muthuraman said that SPB has sung more than 100 songs in the 70 films it has directed. “The most memorable song is Sakalakalavallavan’s ‘Happy New Year’ song, which is still evergreen … Whatever (Ilaiya) Raaja asks, SPB will bring it to the songs. He was so talented, ”Muthuraman said.
Director Vasanth, known for his films like Rhythm, said that SPB was a great human being who had tried to help those around him as much as possible. “The last communication I received from him was in July when he sent me a contact from his friend and said that if someone wants help with education, they can contact this person,” Vasanth recalls.
Lead producer Pyramid Natarajan told Puthiya Thalaimurai that there are no words to convey what he was currently feeling. “You cannot see a human like him. There is no death for him. It will live in all of us, ”he added.
Singer Srinivas remembered SPB as ‘Bheeshmapitamaha’, a father figure to everyone in the music industry. “When we found out that his throat had been punctured to insert the tube, it broke our hearts. We expected him to come back. It’s hard to imagine a world without SPB. But we still have their songs. No one can be without listening to their songs for even one day. There is no one who can replace him … someone who was number one for 50 years. He was the only SPB, ”he said.
Playback singer Hariharan referred to SPB as a ‘brother’, who taught him punctuality, sincerity, and how to make a song of his own. “His recording for shows used to be perfect. It was a great inspiration. He sounded like 45, even though he was 75. It’s amazing. He was a very nice person, he would help anyone in need. He was a very kind hearted person. We are all shocked, ”he said.
Actor Ram Charan also tweeted his shock and anguish over the legendary singer’s disappearance. “It amazes me to learn that our always smiling garu SPB is no more. This loss to our fraternity is unimaginable. My condolences to his entire family, ”he said.

President of the Tamil Maanila Congress, GK Vasan, said: “He is truly blessed by God with an amazing voice. His songs are immortal that will continue to live on forever. I extend my condolences to the members of the family. I am a fan of SPB and not only for the movie songs but also for their carnatic music. His passing saddened me. “
Music director AR Rahman also expressed his shock at SPB’s death and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

Actor Prabhu, meanwhile, expressed his condolences for SPB’s passing and said, “I am what I am because of the countless hit songs you have blessed your voice with, I will miss talking to you Anna. God bless your soul. “
Union Interior Minister Amit Shah, who was recently discharged from the hospital, tweeted: “Deeply saddened by the passing of legendary musician and replay singer Padma Bhushan SP Balasubrahmanyam ji.
