SINGAPORE – A 31-year-old man from India who tested positive for Covid-19 after completing his stay-at-home notice was among four imported cases announced by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Tuesday (October 13).
The job training pass holder served his SHN at a dedicated facility upon his arrival in Singapore on September 25. He was tested on October 5 and his result was negative.
He completed his SHN on October 9 and developed symptoms the same day. He later tested positive for the coronavirus on October 12 when he took a pre-departure test to return to India.
Between October 9 and October 12, he had mainly stayed at a hostel, Dream Lodge Singapore (172 Tyrwhitt Road), but visited the tower building of the National University Health System (NUHS) on October 9. .
The Health Ministry confirmed four imported cases on Tuesday, bringing Singapore’s total to 57,884.
There were no new local cases in the community or in workers’ bedrooms, the first time since March 25 that no new cases were reported in bedrooms.
The remaining three imported cases included a permanent resident who returned from India, a student pass holder who arrived from France, and a short-term visit pass holder who was allowed entry from the UK to visit. to a relative hospitalized here.
All were placed in SHN for 14 days upon arrival in Singapore and were assessed while serving their SHN.
The Health Ministry also announced that the group at Mandai Lodge 1 (460 Mandai Road) has been closed as no new cases have been linked for 28 days, or two incubation periods.
The average number of daily new cases in the community in a week has decreased from two cases two weeks ago to an average of less than one in the last week.
The number of unrelated cases in the community in one week has also decreased from a daily average of less than one case to none during the same period.
With 12 cases discharged on Tuesday, 57,725 patients have made a full recovery from the disease.
A total of 35 patients remain in the hospital, none in intensive care, while 81 recover in community facilities.
Singapore has had 28 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.
