On April 28, Malaysian TVB actress Vivien Yeo announced via Instagram that she had given birth to a healthy 2.7 kg girl.
Yeo, 35, returned to Malaysia from Hong Kong after the Covid-19 blockade. She said her daughter’s arrival was “the most precious gift a mother could receive for Mother’s Day.” Mother’s Day is celebrated on May 10 in Malaysia.
In the caption for her post, Yeo said she chose to deliver the baby by caesarean section. She also shared her experiences giving birth during the ongoing motion control order: “The delivery was not easy as there were many last-minute changes due to the pandemic and quarantine efforts in Malaysia. Also, my husband was not allowed in the delivery room since the hospital had to adjust its protocols. “
She then thanked the medical staff for caring for her and making sure her baby was born safely.
Yeo also revealed that the baby would carry the same initials as her, “VY”.
The actress has starred in several TVB dramas, including the first installment of Forensic Heroes (2006), The Learning Curve Of A Warlord (2018), and the ongoing series, Brutally Young. She is also the executive director of her own beauty company, VY Beauty Store.
The birth of Yeo’s daughter was a surprise to fans, as the actress had kept her pregnancy a secret. This is not the first time that Yeo has chosen to keep his personal life a secret.
Last October, Yeo broke the news that she had married her longtime boyfriend in a private ceremony after months of planning.
Yeo has expressed that she prefers to keep the privacy of her family life because her husband is not part of the entertainment industry.
