Liverpool could receive a bonus of 20 million euros thanks to Barcelona clarifying the future of Philippe Coutinho.
The attacking midfielder left Anfield to go to the Camp Nou in January 2018, but the move has not gone as planned, prompting him to be loaned to Bayern Munich this season.
Bayern will not sign it permanently this summer, which means Barcelona faces a difficult decision on what to do with their € 135 million investment.
The Brazilian star was thought to be eager to return to the Premier League, although Liverpool are unlikely to re-sign him. Instead, Chelsea has been the most closely linked English team in recent weeks.
However, Reports earlier this week revealed that Chelsea had left Coutinho on her priority list. – And now it looks like you could stay in Barcelona.
La Liga team head coach Quique Setien, who was not in charge when Coutinho was sent to Munich, has admitted that he would be willing to work with the player if he returned to Catalonia, and now Brand I clarify that Barcelona is firmly considering staying with the 27-year-old.
That means good news for Liverpool, as they are in line with a € 20m additional clause when Coutinho passes 100 appearances for Barcelona. With the player who has currently played 76 times for them, he will likely exceed that milestone next season.
Liverpool would receive an additional € 5m if Barcelona win the Champions League while Coutinho is there. In total, if all the accessories are made, Liverpool could end up with 160 million euros.
