There may have been some confusion among fans when Official Twitter account of Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man movies He referred to the “Spider-Man Character Universe” in a recent tweet.

But no, Sony’s Spidey-verse is not called the Spider-Man Character Universe or the Spidey-verse.

IGN contacted the studio to clarify what their Marvel movie universe should be called and were told that their official name is Characters from Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel.

As a result, this information has been available for a while, but is not widely known. The studio refers to Sony’s Sony Pictures of Marvel Characters Universe in this 2019 Sony Pictures Entertainment presentation, which also confirms that they are developing a Kraven the Hunter movie.

We’ve heard rumors about a Kraven movie since 2018, with screenwriter Richard Wenk claiming at the time that the movie would be inspired by the famous comic book story “Kraven’s Last Hunt” and that he could write Spider-Man in the story.

And while it is unclear how Venom: Let There Be Carnage could connect with Tom Holland / Spidey movies, Morbius’ first teaser confirmed that the movie takes place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
