Joy and sadness coexisted at LoL Park today, when Team Dynamics was promoted to LCK, while Griffin was relegated to Challengers Korea.
On the 29th (KST), Day 2 of the 2020 LCK Summer Promotion Tournament took place in LoL Park. Team Dynamics brought down Seorabeol Gaming in the winners match to be promoted to LCK, while Griffin lost to SANDBOX Gaming in the losers match to be relegated to Challengers Korea.
In the Winners match, Team Dynamics seemed to be cooking with their opponents, Seorabeol Gaming. Although Rich lagged behind SRB’s first Jungler ganks, KaKAO, it showed why he’s known for his Aatrox. As the name Aatrox suggests, Rich really was SRB’s World Ender.
DYN had a difficult history against SRB in the Challengers Korea regular season. However, things were different this time around, as his setup and team fighting skills proved to be at a much higher level than SRB. With this victory Rich, Beyond, Kuzan and GuGer managed to return to the LCK.
In the Losers game, SANDBOX Gaming defeated Griffin 2-0 for one last chance to stay in the LCK. Summit was able to break out of his depression to score a solo murder, and OnFleek played Lee Sin to break the Champion’s 13-game losing streak in the LCK. They will face SRB for the last ticket in the LCK on the 30th (KST).
Meanwhile, Griffin not only ranked last in the 2020 LCK Spring regular season, but he also suffered a crushing defeat by being relegated. Since a sensational LCK debut in 2018, their two-year LCK tenure has ended when they returned to Challengers Korea after tonight’s loss.
