A 66-year-old Indonesian woman who arrived with a long-term visit pass was among 15 new coronavirus cases reported by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Thursday (March 18).

All 15 cases were imported and placed on stay-at-home notices (SHNs) upon arrival in Singapore, the Health Ministry said.

All were asymptomatic and tested positive while serving SHN.

This brings Singapore’s total count to 60,152.

There were no new cases from the community or from the workers’ dormitories.

The 15 new imported cases comprised three permanent residents returning from India and Malaysia; a holder of a work pass from the United Arab Emirates; nine work permit holders from Bangladesh, India and Malaysia; a holder of a short-term visit pass from Indonesia and a holder of a 66-year long-term visit pass from Indonesia.

One of the nine work permit holders is a foreign domestic worker, the Health Ministry said.

The Health Ministry added that the number of new cases in the community has decreased from two cases two weeks ago to one in the last week.

The number of unrelated cases in the community in one week has also decreased from two cases to one during the same period.

The Health Ministry also added that of the 82 confirmed cases reported between March 12 and 18, 40 tested positive in their serological tests, while 25 tested negative.

Another 17 serological test results are pending.

With 13 cases discharged yesterday, 59,999 patients have fully recovered from the disease.

A total of 14 patients remain in the hospital, none in intensive care, while 94 recover in community facilities.

Singapore has had 30 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.

Globally, the virus outbreak, which began in December 2019, has infected more than 121 million people. More than 2.68 million people have died.
