SINGAPORE – Those suffering from serious side effects related to the Covid-19 vaccine can apply for financial assistance starting Wednesday (March 17).
Your applications under the Vaccine Injury Financial Assistance Program for Covid-19 vaccination (Vifap) will need to be accompanied by medical information about the serious side effect from the treating physician, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.
An independent clinical panel will review all requests to see how severe the effects are and how they relate to the vaccine received.
The amount of the one-time goodwill payment is based on the severity of the side effects attributed to the vaccine.
Those who require hospitalization and medical intervention, and who subsequently recover, will receive $ 2,000.
Those who require admission to intensive care or high dependency wards and subsequently recover will receive $ 10,000.
Those who die or suffer a permanent severe disability as a result of the vaccination will receive $ 225,000.
The Health Ministry had already announced the two highest payment levels on January 28, but not the lowest level of $ 2,000.
