SINGAPORE – The Modern Covid-19 vaccine will be administered at four new vaccination centers here starting Wednesday (March 17), the Ministry of Health announced.

These are: Hong Kah North Community Club, Marsiling Community Club, Punggol 21 Community Club and Radin Mas Community Club.

All other vaccination centers here, as well as selected polyclinics and Public Health Preparedness Clinics (PHPC), will continue to offer the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

The Health Ministry said the Moderna vaccine will be available at more vaccination centers as more supplies arrive.

“Each vaccination center will store and administer only one type of vaccine. Individuals must select the same vaccination center for their first and second appointment, when booking through the national appointment system,” the ministry said Tuesday.

He also added that since the vaccination capacity of each vaccination center is not the same, the waiting times for the first dose will be different between vaccination centers.

In addition to the four new centers mentioned above, another three vaccination centers will also begin to operate progressively from March 17.

These are Nanyang Community Club, Sengkang Community Club, and Arena @ Our Tampines Hub.

By mid-April, there will be a total of 40 vaccination centers across the island.

With the latest centers, those eligible can receive their injections at 31 vaccination centers, in addition to the 20 polyclinics and 22 PHPCs throughout the island.

People are encouraged to book their appointments at vaccination centers, which have greater capacity than polyclinics.

As of March 15, more than 792,000 doses of the vaccine had been administered.

More than 549,000 people have received at least the first dose, of which some 243,000 have also received their second dose and thus completed the full vaccination regimen.

Since vaccination for seniors began across the island on February 22, more than 175,000 seniors have received their first dose and about 230,000 seniors have made appointments to receive their first dose in the coming weeks.

The Health Ministry said it is increasing the creation of more vaccination centers across the island to speed up the rate of vaccination and provide greater convenience for Singaporeans and long-term residents to receive their injections.

“All vaccination centers are well equipped to handle medical demands, with trained doctors and nurses on site to provide medical advice and treatment,” he added.
