Robbie Fowler insists Liverpool must not be afraid to sell Mohamed Salah this summer if the attacker wants to leave Anfield.

“I’m not going to try Salah. I love it in pieces. But I really think transfers are now very much about what the players want, so the ball is in their court, not Liverpool’s.
“If you want to go, then you should go. If a player wants to leave, we have to accept that he is in the mix.
“I firmly believe that if they are not happy and want to leave, they should leave. Jurgen Klopp has also said the same: he doesn’t want anyone in the club who doesn’t want to be there.

Coutinho happening again
“I think that was his attitude towards Philippe Coutinho. It was stirred by a movement. Liverpool turned him down in the summer because it didn’t suit them financially and in terms of bringing in players.
“But they made the deal in January and used the money to buy Virgil van Dijk and Alisson.
“Klopp did not want Coutinho because he thought his attitude was not correct. In the end, he didn’t want that poison in his camp.
“So if Salah is really unhappy, if he’s upset that they haven’t given him a new contract or whatever, then trade in, get whatever you can for him and use the money to make adjustments with the current team.
Salah, 29, currently has two years left on his contract with Anfield. With that in mind, the Reds will need to make a decision about their future soon.
