Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says center-back Ozan Kabak is unlikely to face Fulham after being injured at Chelsea.

The Reds suffered a first sadness in its history on Thursday, losing its fifth straight game at Anfield.

Injury hitting is nothing new this season, though, with all three senior center halves out for the long haul.

What’s more, Klopp has had to juggle his backup options with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho trading places on the sidelines in recent weeks.

In the midst of his crisis, the signing of January Ozan kabak he has played every minute of the last four league games. However, as is the history of Liverpool’s season, that has proven to be too much.

“Ozan had a little problem yesterday after the game,” Klopp told reporters (via Echo of Liverpool), laughing sarcastically as he did so. “Obviously he has played a lot of games and now we will see if he is ready for Fulham.

“It doesn’t seem like it at the moment, so we’ll have to find solutions.”

Klopp spoke at his pre-match press conference, where he faced questions about his decision to keep a high line against Chelsea and play Fabinho in midfield, rather than midfield.

“But the moment we make decisions, we make them because we believe they are the best.”

Despite Kabak’s wound, Liverpool he will likely field Nathaniel Phillips alongside Fabinho on Sunday. The 23-year-old did not make the call Thursday due to injury.

Also, Ben Davies, Kabak’s teammate in January, will likely be on the bench. The former Preston player has yet to play for Klopp since his arrival.

Klopp praises Parker

Scott Parker TEAMtalk

Liverpool face Fulham who drew 1-1 with the Reds at Craven Cottage in December.

In fact, the Cottagers were on the better side for much of that game. Since then, they have drawn nine draws in their last 16 games, a sign of their struggle to complete the opportunities they create.

Klopp said of his Fulham counterpart Scott Parker: “[He’s] great. Absolutely great. [It’s] difficult to be relegated and promoted, which is difficult enough, but it is a great achievement.

“I thought about it the other day, the way that Brighton is playing, the way that Fulham is playing is absolutely exceptional in this league.”
