Manchester United battled a 0-0 draw against Real Sociedad in Europa at Old Trafford tonight to advance to the round of 16 of the competition 4-0 on aggregate. Here are our player ratings for the game:

(A score of 6 is about average).

Dean henderson 7 – A seventh clean sheet of the season for Henderson and some authoritative screaming and catching. It looks like a safe pair of hands on the back and a good vocal presence.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka 6 – Should have been rested from the beginning, seemed tired.

Eric Bailly 8 – Another majestic performance by the Ivorian. Hands down United’s best central defender if he can stay in shape.

Victor lindelof 5 – A clean sheet yes, but it did not seem terribly safe and cost Tuanzebe his goal with his free kick.

Alex Such 7 – Another good performance from Telles. He defended well and got some good centers. I’d just like to see him take a few more chances in the future like he used to do with Porto.

Nemanja Matic 6 – Eddie stable performance from Mr Reliable.

Fred 6 – He seemed to be enjoying a bit of freedom to advance, but then got involved in nasty fouls and had to be substituted to avoid a sending off.

Mason Greenwood 7 – Some good plays and he almost scored a classy goal, but he didn’t.

Bruno fernandes 7 – He was so unlucky when he hit the bar and played well for as long as he was there.

Dan James | 4 – He conceded a ridiculous penalty from the start that, if converted, could have complicated his life He took a good save from the goalkeeper of the Society, but otherwise offered little.

Anthony Martial 3 – 90 more minutes without a goal and absolutely lacking in form and confidence. Solskjaer’s determination to play him through his losing streak doesn’t seem to be working and he really should have a few weeks off the team to regroup.

Substitutes

Marcus rashford 7 – He did well, he made some great passes and crosses, but why did he take a risk with the tie he won?

Axel Tuanzebe 8 – He played very well in an unknown role and was extremely unlucky that his bright head beam was discarded for a Lindelof foul. Hope to see more of him on the back of this.

Brandon williams 7 – It was also impressive after a slightly shaky start. He had the energy to shut down everything coming from the right and it looked good going forward.

Amad Diallo 6 – He didn’t get much of a chance to express himself, but he showed a couple of nice touches and helped defense.

Shola shoretire 6 – He did not catch the ball much.

Edinson Cavani has made a big impact since the deadline day arrived at Old Trafford, but how much does he know about our other South American players, past and present? Take our quiz below to find out!
