SINGAPORE – Seven new coronavirus cases were confirmed as of Wednesday noon (February 24), bringing Singapore’s total to 59,890.
There was a community case and there were no new cases in the dormitories of migrant workers, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said.
The remaining six were imported cases that had been assigned a stay-at-home notice upon arrival in Singapore.
More details will be announced Wednesday night.
On Tuesday, a 35-year-old Bangladeshi man working as a delivery assistant at Chng Woodworking was the only locally transmitted Covid-19 case confirmed by the Health Ministry.
He does not interact directly with customers at the building supplies store in Kranji and his job involves loading and unloading goods.
He stays in a dorm on Kranji Way. Her infection was detected after she was tested as part of routine testing for migrant workers in dormitories.
He cleaned himself again on Monday and the same day he developed a sore throat and cough.
After testing positive for Covid-19, he was taken to the National Center for Infectious Diseases.
Your serologic test was negative, indicating that you likely have a current infection.
All of his close contacts have been isolated and quarantined.
There were also three imported cases for a total of four new coronavirus cases confirmed by the Health Ministry on Tuesday.
The number of new cases in the community has dropped from five cases two weeks ago to two last week.
The number of unrelated cases in the community in a week has also decreased, from two cases to one during the same period.
With seven cases discharged on Tuesday, 59,738 patients have made a full recovery from the disease.
A total of 19 patients remain in the hospital, including one in the intensive care unit, while 82 recover in community facilities.
Singapore has had 29 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.
Globally, the virus outbreak that began in December 2019 has infected more than 111 million people. More than 2.4 million people have died.
