10-vehicle chain collision at ECP, Singapore News

SINGAPORE – A 10-vehicle collision along the East Coast Parkway (ECP) during rush hour Monday morning (February 22) left at least three people injured.

The massive accident occurred at 9.25am along ECP in the direction of Changi Airport before Marine Vista departure.

The Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) was alerted to the incident and sent a person to Raffles Hospital.

Two others had minor injuries, but said they didn’t need any more help.

According to an eyewitness interviewed by Lianhe Zaobao, the damage to most of the vehicles was not too severe, although one or two were more severely mutilated.

Some 15 people tried to help those affected by the accident. A crowd also gathered on the elevated pedestrian bridge that dominated the scene.

Because the accident occurred in the far right lane of the freeway, traffic was not greatly affected.
