SINGAPORE: Three teenagers and a man were arrested after another man was allegedly stabbed in Simei following a dispute, the Singapore Police (SPF) said on Wednesday (February 17).

Police received a report around 1:15 pm Tuesday that a man was stabbed by “unknown men” along Simei Avenue.

The victim was allegedly stabbed by an 18-year-old with a knife after a dispute, police said.

Another 18-year-old is believed to have passed the knife to the alleged assailant prior to the attack. He, along with two others aged 17 and 20, allegedly kicked and struck the victim, SPF added.

Their identities were established by police officers through investigations and with the help of CCTV footage, and the four were arrested within 24 hours.

The two 18-year-olds will be charged in court Thursday with voluntarily causing harm with a dangerous weapon with common intent and carrying an offensive weapon in public places.

If convicted of willfully causing harm with dangerous weapons with common intent, adolescents can be imprisoned for up to seven years, fined, flogged, or a combination of such punishments.

If found guilty of carrying an offensive weapon in public places, they could be jailed for up to three years and flogged with no less than six strokes.

Investigations against the other two men are ongoing, SPF said.

“The police have zero tolerance for such blatant acts and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly ignore the law,” they added.
