Manchester United have announced that Mason Greenwood has signed a new contract with the club.

Greenwood has emerged from the Man Utd academy to become a key member of the first team. He scored 10 goals in the Premier League last season, despite only making 12 starts.

He’s already equaled that number of league starts this season. Although his goal production has decreased, he is still a great prospect.

Hence, United have put their faith in him by extending his contract until 2025. They also have the option of tying him to one more year.

Greenwood has made more than 80 appearances with the club to date. You will have many opportunities to increase that count in the years to come.

The 19-year-old spoke of his enthusiasm for the new deal to the club’s official website.

“When you join the club at seven, you dream of playing for the first team one day,” he said.

“I have worked very hard to reach this level and the last two years have been incredible. There is so much I want to achieve in the game and I know that this is the perfect environment to play my football.

“With the support of the coach, his coaching staff and so many great players to learn from, I know that I am developing every day. There is so much more to come from me and this team and I am very committed to working hard week after week to help the group achieve success.

“I want to give back to the club the support that everyone has given me over the years and show everyone what I am capable of.”

“He has come a long way this season, showing true maturity and adaptability to his game, which has led him to become one of the best young players in the country.

“While it’s easy for people outside the club to forget that Mason is only 19 years old, our job as coaches is to make sure he reaches his phenomenal potential and every step we take is to help him on that path.

“Mason has a natural talent and a brilliant attitude; we know how important it is going to be for Manchester United in the coming seasons ”.
