NEW DELHI: Indian and Chinese troops fought on their disputed Himalayan border leaving injuries on both sides, military sources and media reports said Monday (January 25).
Last week’s incident came six months after a pitched battle in which at least 20 Indian soldiers and an unknown number of Chinese forces were killed.
The latest incident occurred last week in Naku La, in Sikkim state, military sources told AFP.
Media reports quoted Indian military officials as saying there were casualties on both sides.
A Chinese patrol attempted to cross into Indian territory and was forced back, officials said.
Naku La connects Sikkim with the Tibet region of China.

Hand-to-hand fighting on the Sikkim border in May last year triggered the latest border tensions between the world’s two most populous nations.
In June, troops from both sides fought with wooden sticks and fists in the Galwan Valley in the Ladakh region.
China and India, which fought a border war in 1962, blamed each other for the dispute, and each has sent tens of thousands of additional troops to border areas.
The latest de-escalation talks between military commanders took place on Sunday.
