CHRIS SUTTON: Manchester United’s job was supposedly too big for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but he handled all the riots and is proving he’s the right man for it.

  • Manchester United beat Liverpool 3-2 in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday
  • Bruno Fernandes scored the winning goal with a free kick in the 78th minute
  • Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has managed to turn things around after difficult times

Bruno Fernandes was told that he would not start against Liverpool. But the day before the game, he stayed behind after training and practiced free throws for 45 minutes. That’s the definition of a determined player, one who wants to do everything possible for his boss.

What work is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doing.

Sometimes he has received so many kicks. Apparently the job was too big for the Norwegian.

Apparently, he was an out-of-reach physical education teacher posing as a Premier League coach. Some Manchester United fans wanted him out and Mauricio Pochettino in, soon.

The pressure intensified when United were expelled from the Champions League after being in a position of power in their group.

But we have to give credit to Solskjaer. He handled all of those riots, the conversations about him getting the boot and being replaced by Pochettino.

Now United are in the fifth round of the FA Cup and Liverpool are not. United are leaders of the Premier League and Liverpool are not.

A person who called BBC 606 on Sunday night was able to choose between Solskjaer and Jurgen Klopp as his manager. He told me he would choose the boss of United! Sunday’s game was everything the previous week’s game wasn’t.

Liverpool will be devastated, but I don’t think this is a crisis. I see it more as a problem. They can still come back from this. They can still go back and retain their title. This is how you have to think now.
