Klopp convinced the £ 38m center-back is Van Dijk’s perfect partner

Jurgen Klopp has identified the central defender who he believes is the perfect partner for Virgil van Dijk, while Tottenham is looking for a former right-back target, according to transfer rumors on Sunday.

KLOPP IDENTIFIES THE UPPER CENTER-REAR TARGET

Reports on Sunday claim that Jurgen Klopp has identified the perfect central partner for Virgil van Dijk.

The Dutch master is currently sidelined by a long-lasting injury, along with his regular defensive partner Joe Gomez.

That has led to repeatedly talking about Liverpool making a move for a booster this month.

Despite Klopp denying there is revenue, that hasn’t stopped several names from being linked to a move to Anfield.

Chief among them is the star of RB Leipzig Upamecan Dayot, and the Sunday Mirror claims he’s the man Klopp wants.

The report claims that Klopp sees the French international as a “natural partner” for Van Dijk. That could spell bad news for people like Gomez and Joel Matip.

However, Liverpool are currently unable to afford Upamecano’s £ 38 million release clause, meaning other clubs could make their move.

Manchester United are known fans as they seek a new partner for Harry Maguire. But Bayern Munich are the main contenders for his signature.

The German giants have admitted for the first time that they are looking strongly to sign Upamecano this summer.

That would mean Liverpool or United would risk trying to sign the player this month.

But it seems the chances of Liverpool going that way are slim, which is a blow to Klopp in his quest to achieve his main objective.
