SINGAPORE: On Wednesday (January 6), retail and food and beverage outlets in shopping centers such as Marina Bay Sands and Plaza Singapura were added to the Ministry of Health (MINSA) list of public places visited by community cases of COVID- 19 during his infectious period.

Stores include the Apple Store, Dallas Cafe & Bar and the Armani Exchange store at Marina Bay Sands, Spotlight and Cold Storage at Plaza Singapura, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at Junction 8, and the Suki-ya restaurant at Bugis +.

Also on the list are Yuhua Market and Hawker Center on Jurong West and Goodspeed Cyber ​​Cafe on Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8, which was visited multiple times, on December 23 and 30, as well as January 3 and 5.

Those identified as close contacts of confirmed cases have already been notified, the Health Ministry said.

As a precautionary measure, people who were in these places during the specified times should monitor their health closely for 14 days from the date of their visit, the ministry added.

“They should see a doctor immediately if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their history of exposure,” said the Ministry of Health. .

There is no need to avoid places where COVID-19 cases have been recorded, the Health Ministry added.

“The National Environment Agency will involve the administration of the affected facilities to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection,” the Health Ministry said.

Two community cases were among the 31 new Singapore COVID-19 infections reported on Wednesday, including a man who preliminarily tested positive for the new B117 virus strain. This brings the country’s case count to 58,780.
