A Qxpress van collided with a car while exiting a parking lot near Block 177 Boon Lay Drive on Thursday (December 31).
Stomper Awie He said he was riding his bike home around 3 p.m. when he suddenly heard a loud bang.
He turned around and was surprised to see that a Qxpress pickup had collided with the front of a Toyota car.
“The driver made a sharp left turn while trying to get out of the parking lot, hit the car and it got stuck there. As soon as I heard the loud creaking and knocking, I immediately stopped my bike and turned to see what happened” Awie said .
“After that, I continued driving a few meters ahead to park my bike. I got out and walked quickly to the crash site.
“The driver of the truck saw me and asked if I knew the owner of the car. I said no.”
Awie added that she noticed there were two men in Qxpress T-shirts and another man in black who appears to be her boss.
According to Awie, the driver of the van was one of the men wearing the Qxpress shirt.
“The man in the black shirt was taking pictures of the damage and writing a note on a piece of paper for the driver of the car,” he said.
“After a while, the driver of the truck tried to back out of the place. There wasn’t much, so I went home.
“About 15 minutes later, from my kitchen window, which is across from the parking lot, I saw another guy, who I think is the driver of the car, talking to the guy in black. I guess they drove it alone and didn’t call the police .
“In fact, I believe that Qxpress employees are very responsible for waiting for the driver of the car to return to resolve the matter. However, I am also disappointed that these types of accidents are very common.
“How come the driver of the van didn’t see the car parked next to him? Maybe he was too careless and was in a rush to get out of the parking lot.”
Stomp has contacted Qxpress for more information.
