The national water agency PUB has warned of flash floods occurring in three areas due to heavy rains on Saturday (January 2). They are on Pasir Ris Farmway 3, Lor Halus (towards TPE) and Jln Seaview.

In a statement around 9:30 am on Saturday, he indicated that the water levels in the canals and drains in these places have reached 90 percent of their capacity and advised the public to avoid these areas.

Other locations considered high flood risk include Bedok Canal on Upper Changi Road, Carmen St / Lakme Terrace near Bedok, and Siang Kuang Ave on Upper Serangoon.

Videos posted on social media by The Straits Times showed a flooded portion of East Coast Park near Fort Road and high water levels around the Kallang basin.

In parts of Singapore yesterday (January 1), temperatures dropped below 22 degrees C due to prolonged moderate to heavy rains since Friday morning (January 1), The Straits Times reported.

Temperatures dropped to 21.2 degrees C in Bukit Timah, 21.4 degrees C in Admiralty and 21.9 degrees C in Kovan, with flash flood warnings in five places Friday afternoon.

On January 2, the lowest temperature recorded at 1pm was 21.5 degrees C in Admiralty.
