Man Arrested for Drunk Driving After Pedestrian Injury Crash, Singapore News & Top Stories

SINGAPORE – A 34-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after an accident involving a car and two pedestrians on Serangoon Road in Little India on Tuesday night (December 29).

One of the pedestrians, a 40-year-old man, was taken to Raffles Hospital by the Singapore Civil Defense Force. I was conscious at the time.

The other pedestrian was not injured.

Police said they were alerted to the accident at 5:27 p.m.

Videos and photos circulating on social media show a black BMW hitting two pedestrians before crashing into a light pole on the sidewalk.

The impact knocks one of the pedestrians flying while the other falls into a merchandise shelf.

The pedestrian sent flying lay motionless on the pavement while the other pedestrian is seen getting up shortly after.

Other pedestrians and staff working in nearby stores later treated the injured pedestrian.

The crash shattered the car’s front bumper and left goods from stores scattered on the ground.
