Manchester United produced arguably their best performance of the season last weekend when they dismantled Leeds.
United entered the game knowing that a victory would lead to them being in the top four.
And they took the lead with Scott McTominay scoring twice in the first three minutes.
United took advantage of their home advantage and eventually won 6-2 in what was a resounding victory.
Anthony Martial didn’t make the roster, but he still had a massive impact on the game.
The Frenchman got two assists and also won a penalty for his team when he was knocked down after a contact from Pascal Struijk.
However, there were some who thought the grief was mild.
And former Leeds player Noel Whelan is one of the men who thinks United was given a penalty by mistake.
In fact, Whelan has gone so far as to call Martial a ‘cheater’.
“It was very naive,” Whelan told Football Insider.
“But you’re going to get that from young players and, to be honest with you, I don’t think it was a penalty. He has left his leg outside and Martial, being intelligent, reviews it, there was hardly any contact.
“During this weekend I have seen so many penalties that they are not penalties, they are soft, they are jumps. It’s a trap in my opinion, but by the letter of the law these days it’s a shame.
“You cannot win with them and the referees have very difficult decisions to make.
“This is what they do now. They come down with very, very minimal contact. It’s that bad. “

I think Whelan is being very tough here.
Martial, valued at £ 49.5 million by Transfermarkt, was picked up at the checkout by the young man from Leeds. When that happens, you have every right to go down.
I think that’s all there really is to say. Calling Martial a ‘cheat’ is taking things too far.
