SINGAPORE – More activities related to individual physical fitness test (IPPT) will resume in January for ready-to-operate national military personnel, the Defense Ministry said on Monday (December 21).
Starting on January 4, the Singapore Armed Forces will resume IPPT Preparatory Training (IPT) at fitness centers, as well as IPT-in-the-Park, which allows NSmen to conduct their training in closer parks. to their homes.
These sessions will be conducted at reduced capacity and in small groups according to the guidelines of phase three of the Sport Singapore statutory board, in accordance with the national Covid-19 measures.
“Some of the safe driving measures to be implemented include taking temperature, physical distancing and wearing masks at all times (except during strenuous physical activities), Mindef said in a Facebook post.
NSmen can start reserving their IPT slots from December 28 through the NS Portal.
“The SAF continues to closely monitor the Covid-19 situation in Singapore and review the measures in place to keep our military safe,” he added.
“The SAF has also been reviewing our NS IPPT system and will release the details of the review when it is ready. We thank our NSmen for their continued commitment to national service.”
IPPT for NSmen was suspended on March 31. Fitness centers in various camps began to reopen for IPPT as of October 1.
