SINGAPORE – The only Covid-19 case transmitted locally on Monday (December 21) was that of a Singaporean woman who tested positive before a scheduled cruise trip, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said.
The ministry added that on December 14, the 39-year-old woman and her family had toured the southern islands with two other families, and that their group had 12 people in total.
This is seven more than the group of five allowed in phase two after the circuit breaker.
The Health Ministry said investigations are underway to assess whether there were any violations of the relevant safe management measures.
The woman was asymptomatic and her case is currently not linked to any other case. She was taken in an ambulance to the National Center for Infectious Diseases the day after her test when she tested positive for Covid-19 infection.
The National Public Health Laboratory has conducted further tests to verify that he has Covid-19, and the Health Ministry said that the result of his serological test is pending. A positive serological test indicates a probable past infection.
The woman lives at 93 Jurong West Street and went to work at Ruising Chemicals at 18 Boon Lay Way before her test result was confirmed.
Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, all of his identified close contacts, including family members and coworkers, have been isolated and quarantined and will be assessed at the beginning and end of their quarantine period.
The Health Ministry also announced nine imported cases on Monday, bringing Singapore’s total to 58,432.
Of these, three are Singaporeans who returned from the UK and India.
Two others are work permit holders currently working here from Indonesia and Myanmar.
The sixth imported case is the holder of a student pass that arrived from Myanmar.
The remaining three cases are short-term visit pass holders who are crew members of separate vessels that arrived from Indonesia. They had not disembarked from their ships until they were taken to a quarantine facility or hospital, the Health Ministry said.
The nine imported cases were placed on stay-at-home notices or isolated upon arrival in Singapore and tested while under quarantine.
No new cases were announced Monday inside the workers’ bedrooms.
Meanwhile, along with the announcement of a new community case, the Ministry of Health added several locations to the list of places visited by infectious Covid-19 patients, including the Anchorpoint Mall, Takashimaya in Ngee Ann City, and downtown. Raffles City shopping mall.
The Ministry of Health provides the list of places that patients infected with Covid-19 visited for at least 30 minutes so that people who were in those places at the same time closely monitor their health for two weeks from the date of their visit.

It has been said that close contacts would have already been notified and that there is no need to avoid these places as they would have been cleaned up if necessary.
Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with a total of one case in the last week that is currently unrelated.
With eight cases discharged on Monday, 58,272 patients have fully recovered from the disease.
A total of 46 patients remain in the hospital, none in intensive care, while 70 recover in community facilities.
Singapore has had 29 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.
