SINGAPORE – Guests of the Mandarin Orchard Singapore continued to be moved on Sunday (December 20), after the Ministry of Health (MOH) said it was investigating 13 cases of Covid-19 among those who had stayed at the hotel while they were there. at home. notice (SHN).

Several people in PPE, believed to be hotel personnel and government personnel, were also seen in the hotel lobby and on the driveway.

Some of them took the guests, believed to be now under SHN and being transferred to other hotels, to the waiting vehicles. Others were helping load guests’ luggage or directing incoming vehicles to waiting areas.

Certis auxiliary police officers were seen entering and leaving the driveway, which was out of public reach.

Buses were also seen parked along the main road outside the hotel, with two making their way to the hotel grounds during the time ST was there.

Additionally, a steady stream of black cars was observed coming and going after picking up guests.

When ST returned to the hotel around 2.15pm, the vehicles and personnel in PPE had left and the driveway was empty.

The Health Ministry said on Saturday that the 13 Covid-19 cases, previously classified as imported, may have been infected after their arrival in Singapore.

Other guests had shortened their stay there and were seen leaving the hotel later that day.

In an earlier statement, Mandarin Orchard said all guests would be checking out Sunday and had no information on how long the hotel would be closed as investigations were still ongoing.

He said refunds for upcoming stays, room and dinner reservations, as well as events, will be processed within 14 days.
