SIA will also carry vaccines, according to The Straits Times. The airline said in its statement Friday that it expects “significant” cargo traffic on each of the expanded services, primarily serving time-sensitive and high-value cargo sectors such as pharmaceuticals, technology and fresh produce.

On routes departing from John F Kennedy International Airport in New York and San Francisco International Airport, SIA will operate ultra-long-range Airbus A350-900 aircraft that come with 67 business class seats and 94 premium economy seats.

On routes departing from Los Angeles International Airport, SIA will operate three-cabin A350-900 LH aircraft that can accommodate 42 passengers in business class, 24 in premium economy class and 187 passengers in economy class.

SIA said all of its aircraft are equipped with HEPA airflow management systems that remove up to 99.97 percent of bacteria, viruses and particles from the cabin air, which is replaced every two to three minutes.

SIA shares closed 0.23 percent higher at Singapore $ 4.43 on Friday.
