SINGAPORE – Five new cases of coronavirus were confirmed at noon on Monday (December 14), all of which were imported.

They were included in stay-at-home notices upon arrival in Singapore.

There were no new community cases and none of the workers’ bedrooms, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said.

Monday’s new cases bring Singapore’s total to 58,325.

The new cases comprised four work permit holders employed in Singapore and one holder of a short-term visit pass, the ministry said late Monday.

Three of the work permit holders were Indonesian women, aged 27 to 35, who traveled from Indonesia.

The holder of the remaining work permit is a 32-year-old woman who came from the Philippines.

The holder of the short-term visit pass is a 24-year-old man who returned from India. You are enrolled in a private educational institution in Singapore.

All five cases were asymptomatic and detected through proactive screening and surveillance, the ministry said.

He added that the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with no new cases in the last week.

With two cases discharged on Monday, 58,195 patients have made a full recovery from the disease.

A total of 22 patients remain in hospital, none in intensive care, while 64 patients recover in community facilities.

Singapore has had 29 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.

Globally, the virus outbreak, which began in December last year, has infected more than 69.5 million people. More than 1.5 million people have died.
