Patrice Evra has revealed that Thierry Henry once turned off the television instead of watching Granit Xhaka captain Arsenal.
Xhaka flaunted himself in Arsenal’s last defeat – his fourth in succession – being sent off just before the hour mark for grabbing Ashley Westwood of Burnley by the neck.
The Gunners lost 1-0 thanks to an own goal by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, leaving Mikel Arteta’s team in 15th place in the Premier League, having scored the fewest goals at this stage of the season since 1981-82.
Xhaka was the captain of Arsenal until last year, when he was stripped of the armband for his reaction to the taunts when he was replaced by former boss Unai Emery.

The Swiss midfielder seemed ready to leave the Emirates until Arteta was appointed and convinced him that he could play an important role in rebuilding the new manager.

But his latest indiscretion will make the clamor for Xhaka ax rise once again and Evra, as he analyzes the game to Sky sports, offered insight into how Henry, an Arsenal legend, views the 28-year-old’s qualities.
“I’ll tell you a quick story,” Evra said. “Thierry Henry invited me to his house one day to watch an Arsenal game.
“He turned on the TV, the first image we saw on the screen was Xhaka leading the Arsenal team, being the captain. Thierry Henry turned off the television.
“I said, ‘What happened?’ He said, ‘I can’t see my team and Xhaka being the captain of my team’ and turned off the screen. And we didn’t see the game. “
