Teddy Sheringham admits that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come under even more pressure after Manchester United were ejected from the Champions League on Tuesday night.
And the former Red Devils striker warned that if results don’t improve in the Premier League then the Norwegian could be replaced at the front.
United were in a strong position to qualify for their Champions League group before losses to Istanbul Basaksehir, Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig prevented them from progressing.
Sheringham fears that if United do not recover in the league this weekend, Solskjaer could end his contract.

“It’s a result that puts more pressure on him, rumors have circulated about Pochettino supposedly waiting behind the scenes and he certainly could have done it without failing to qualify for the knockout stages,” Sheringham told CardsChat.
“The pressure will build again if they fail in the league in the next few weeks. Ole is a lovely boy and I don’t want that to happen and I hope he keeps the job.”
He added: “When you play for Manchester United, you understand what the situation is.
“You hear Roy Keane and that’s what it’s all about: United to win things. Not to get to the Champions League places, not to be second, not to be a bold runner-up.
“You are there to win things, you are in the biggest club in the country, in Europe, maybe even in the world, so you are expected to win things.”
“Ole knows it, he has lived that feeling, that way of life and he knows that anything other than success and winning trophies is failure.”
