Diogo Jota will not take part in Liverpool’s clash with Fulham on Sunday after sustaining a knee injury midweek, fearing the winger could be out for an extended period.

The 24-year-old received a “blow” during the 1-1 draw with Midtjylland in the Champions League.

He was immediately ruled out of the showdown with the Cottagers. However, there is now concern that the Reds may be left without another point man for some time.

Paul Joyce from The times States that Liverpool they are waiting for the problem to “settle down” before assessing the severity of the injury.

Who he was named in Klopp’s starting eleven for the game in Denmark despite the Reds already qualifying for the round of 16.

And a potentially serious injury appears to have compounded that decision. Substitute left-back Kostas Tsimikas also fell in what was a physical competition.

Jota has been in outstanding form since making a big move for the Wolves, scoring nine times in 17 games.

His performances have allowed Klopp to rotate his famous three forwards. Meanwhile, there have also been occasions when the Reds boss has singled out four of his attackers.

But if Jota is ruled out for any significant time, he will put additional pressure on players like Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah during the busy holiday period.

Liverpool have already suffered several devastating injuries this season in their bid to defend their title.

Starting centers Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez will miss the rest of the season. Another summer signing, Thiago, has also had problems that have limited his playing time.

The Reds will now keep their fingers crossed that Jota’s medicals will return with positive news.

Now, for the first time, Helmer has admitted that he was subject to a Liverpool rapprochement in 1998. With Bayern ready to accept Liverpool’s offer, the decision on the move was left to Helmer.

However, he chose to stay at Bayern. Talking to Podcast “Dear Football” by Sport 1, as transcribed by LookHelmer admits that the move to Anfield did not meet his requirements.

“I did not have the courage to go to Liverpool,” Helmer admitted.

“At the time, I was a bit of a coward.

“The prospect of winning a few more titles was more important to me than adventure and money.” Read more…
