Assistant District Attorney Emily Koh said Nurul was appointed by TTSH as a health care assistant on March 20, 2017, and that he was earning $ 1,630 a month. He was also entitled to shift assignment, a district court heard.
The DPP added that Nurul did not show up for work on August 16 and 17, 2018. He did not notify his colleagues and supervisors of the reasons for his absence. There was also no prior license approved by his supervisor.
DPP Koh said: “According to the terms and conditions of the defendant’s employment with TTSH, the defendant was deemed to have voluntarily terminated service … by failing to report (for work) for more than two consecutive days without notifying her immediate supervisor. “
Although Nurul’s last day of employment was August 17, 2018, her data erroneously remained in the hospital’s HR system.
Due to this, his bank account number also erroneously remained in the payroll system.
As a result, your previously collected monthly salary was automatically credited to your bank account on a predetermined date.
The tally heard that Nurul continued to receive his salary from TTSH from August 2018 to December last year even though he no longer worked there.
She withdrew, transferred and deducted more than $ 22,000 in cash between January and December of last year.
Moreover, Nurul went to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) for a consultation on October 10 last year. He lied to an employee who was working for TTSH and was entitled to staff medical benefits.
The staff manually marked her bill in the TTSH medical benefit plan and Nurul left KTPH without paying her bill.
DPP Koh said: “With such a form of deception, the defendant intentionally misled (the employee) into crediting his medical bill of $ 29.60 to TTSH medical benefits.”
Nurul’s crimes came to light after a senior TTSH executive alerted police in January this year. She will be sentenced on January 27 of next year.
For dishonest concealment of property, a criminal can be imprisoned for three years and fined.
