‘What a shame’: Ho Ching to people who threw masks at service ambassadors, Singapore News

The third round of free mask distribution in Singapore began on November 30, but not without a few hiccups: some masks got stuck in vending machines, while various members of the public collected ill-fitting masks.

But it is not correct to unload one’s unhappiness with others, Ho Ching has reminded the public.

In a Facebook post on Thursday (December 10), Temasek’s CEO and CEO said: “For those who threw their masks at service ambassadors when they are not allowed to trade, what a shame!”

“Service ambassadors, volunteers, and staff are driven by a sense of duty to help keep our community safe, to keep everyone safe.”

While collecting masks from vending machines is primarily an automated process, service ambassadors and other volunteers are stationed at some collection points to assist those who may need assistance.

The exchange of collected masks is not allowed for hygiene and logistics reasons, Ho explained.

Since reusable masks come in four sizes – small, medium, large and extra large – this time, the Temasek Foundation has frequently reminded the public to consult their mask size guide for a correct fit before picking up their masks from the Vending machines. .

On his Facebook page, he shared a video clip, infographics, and a short FAQ on the different skin sizes, as well as tips on how to use the new skins and filters.

Noting that some people failed to fit their masks well even though they had taken their facial measurements, Ho offered his apologies.

“Unlike the previous adult free-size pleated white DET30 masks, ProShield masks are shaped appropriately, so trying to fit a variety of sizes and face shapes is quite difficult,” he explained.

To help the public assess mask sizes, some community centers display samples in vending machines.

Free skin collection ends December 13.

Since its first fiscal year in July, Temasek has distributed approximately 16.9 million free masks to Singapore residents.
