Cyberpunk 2077 Gets 43GB Pre-Release Patch

Cyberpunk 2077 apparently received a 43GB pre-release patch on Xbox, and it may receive another update at launch, according to a tweet from a CD Projekt Red employee.

YouTuber DreamcastGuy, who received an Xbox version of the game earlier due to an apparent error from the retailer, posted a tweet showing an alleged 43.5 GB Patch for Cyberpunk 2077, a considerable update before launch. However, it may not be the only patch the game receives.

CD Red’s Project Fabian replied to DreamcastGuy, saying that “this is not the update we will have for launch”, presumably pointing to the 43GB patch being a ‘Day Zero’ update, with a Day One update to be released on December 10th.

It seems likely that the content of the 43GB patch will be included in the initial download / install of the game, rather than seeing it download two separate updates. The game currently weighs 70GB on PC, though it’s unclear if that’s an outdated version size.

The game’s preload is now live on GOG, with other platforms throughout the next day, so it’s best to download early if you want to have everything ready for launch.
