A 54-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after a bus accident at the junction of Bedok Reservoir Road and Bedok North Road on Monday afternoon (December 7).

Police and the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) told Stomp that they were alerted to the accident at 12:55 p.m.

The pedestrian was conscious when she was taken to Changi General Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing

Stomper Yes, a resident of the Archipelago condominium located in front of the accident scene, shared photos showing paramedics next to an SBS Transit bus.

A bus driver in SBS Transit uniform can be seen sitting on a nearby sidewalk.

Wenn said: “An aunt was crossing the street when the bus hit her.

“I was on my balcony when I noticed that a bus had suddenly stopped at the traffic junction and caused a traffic jam.

After a while, an ambulance and two fire trucks arrived at the scene. The aunt was inside the ambulance 15 minutes later.

“When I went to the place, the bus captain was helping the Traffic Police.”

In response to an inquiry from Stomp, Ms. Tammy Tan, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications for SBS Transit, said: “Our immediate focus is pedestrian welfare and we are in contact with their closest family members.

“We are sorry this has happened and we are committed to assisting you as you recover. In the meantime, we are assisting the police in their investigations.

“We would also like to apologize to the affected passengers and motorists who were inconvenienced this afternoon due to the accident.”
