Two teenage boys, ages 17 and 19, have been arrested for allegedly using stolen credit card information to conduct unauthorized transactions.

Police said they received a report on Dec. 1 from a victim who discovered that several unauthorized transactions had taken place with her credit card.

Through investigations, agents from the Bedok Police Division established the identity of the two teenagers and arrested them on Friday (December 4).

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the 19-year-old had allegedly obtained the victim’s credit card information while working as a cashier at a restaurant where the victim had been,” police added.

“Both teens used the information to conduct unauthorized transactions worth approximately $ 180.”

Police investigations are ongoing.

The crime of withholding illegally obtained personal information carries a jail term of up to three years and a fine, while the crime of unauthorized access to computer material carries a fine of up to $ 5,000 and / or a jail term of up to two years .
