All were imported cases that had been listed on stay-at-home or isolated notices upon arrival in Singapore.

On Friday, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) did not announce any community cases or patients from workers’ dormitories.

More details will be announced on Friday evening.

An isolated case transmitted locally was reported Thursday.

The patient is from a workers’ dormitory, the Health Ministry said.

The man was asymptomatic and the infection was detected through proactive surveillance, the Health Ministry said, adding that the result of the polymerase chain reaction test indicated a low viral load.

His close contacts in the bedroom and his workplace have been isolated and quarantined.

There were nine confirmed cases in total on Thursday.

The other eight boxes were imported. It consisted of one Singaporean, two permanent residents (PRs), two business pass holders, two short-term pass holders and one dependent pass holder.

The Singaporean and both PRs had returned from the United States. Both work pass holders were from Nepal, while the two short-stay visit pass holders came from Indonesia. The holder of the clerk’s pass was an 18-year-old woman from France.

All eight imported cases announced Thursday were asymptomatic when tested, and all were put on stay-at-home notice upon arrival in Singapore and tested, the Health Ministry said.

The ministry added that the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with a total of four new cases last week, all of which are unrelated.

With one more patient discharged on Thursday, 58,130 people have recovered from the disease.

26 patients were still in the hospital Thursday, none in intensive care, while 39 were recovering in community facilities.
