Roy Keane, ironically, has backed Arsenal to remain in the Premier League despite their worst start in 39 years.
Mikel Arteta’s men were overwhelmed by the Wolves at the Emirates on Sunday night, their third straight loss at home.
They had just two shots on goal and are now eight points behind next week’s leaders and opponents, the Spurs.
Arteta was later asked if she feared the ax, less than 12 months after replacing Unai Emery.
The Spaniard assured that “I never worry about that” and in the preparation of the game he emphasized that Arsenal must “respect the process”.
Sky sports Expert Keane was asked what he thought about Arsenal and said he feels that “a lot of the players are not good enough” and that “there is a softness there.”
The Irishman added: “A few weeks ago the cheerleaders were out when they did a decent performance at United.
“They’ve had a point since then, they lost the other two games, and I think they look soft.
“They probably lack a bit of confidence. I didn’t see that actual fight the manager was talking about. I didn’t see that desire or determination to get a result. “
Later in the Sky coverage, Keane was asked about the prospect of next week’s North London derby and couldn’t resist a little joke:
“They all look great right now, don’t they? That could be the best game for them next week: a derby, no fans, does leaving mean perhaps less pressure than at home?
“But I still think Arsenal has enough to stand up, I think; they will be strong enough to stay in the division, ”he said with a serious face, before cracking a smile.

Luiz’s injury
Meanwhile, Sunday’s game was marred by a nasty showdown between David Luiz and Raúl Jiménez.
The pair collided while competing for a corner, and the Wolves forward appeared to come out worse.
Luiz was able to continue until halftime, but Jiménez was removed on a stretcher and immediately sent to the hospital.
Initially asked about the head clash, Arteta insisted his team followed the necessary protocols after David Luiz was given the green light to continue before being substituted at halftime.
Arteta told Sky Sports: “David [Luiz] it’s okay. He has an ugly cut and was conscious. I had a test and was completely fine. We were very worried about Raúl Jiménez because he was very unpleasant.
“When you see the reaction of the players, you know something really bad is happening.
“We follow the protocol to verify that [Luiz] he hadn’t lost the consciousness he didn’t have and then some tests.
“They will continue to do more controls. He was really uncomfortable and he couldn’t really head the ball and he couldn’t continue. “
