SINGAPORE: Singapore reported six new COVID-19 cases as of noon on Saturday (November 28), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in its preliminary daily update.
This includes a locally transmitted infection.
The case was detected through the hawker ministry’s community surveillance tests in and around the Tekka Center on Thursday.

“His serological test result has come back positive, indicating a probable past infection. There are no new cases in the bedrooms,” the Health Ministry said.
The remaining five cases reported on Saturday were imported infections that were placed on stay-at-home notice upon arrival in Singapore.
More details will be provided on Saturday night, the Health Ministry said.

Authorities have been progressively testing for identified community groups such as street vendors, food delivery personnel and cashiers across Singapore. This is part of efforts to “provide a better picture of the prevalence of the population and facilitate early containment of cryptic cases in the community,” the Ministry of Health said.
On Friday, experts the CNA spoke with said there were still community cases lurking after Singapore reported its first local broadcast in two weeks on Thursday.
“The fact that we have not seen any case reports before does not mean that the coronavirus has been completely eradicated from Singapore,” Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health Dean Teo Yik Ying told CNA.
“What is more likely, and as reflected in this situation of having a new community case after a stretch with no reports of community transmission, is that the coronavirus is still lurking in the community.”
The 32-year-old Singaporean man who was the first community case in a fortnight had dinner in the Seoul Garden at the Tampines Mall a few days before testing positive.
The man dined with 12 family members occupying three tables, prompting the restaurant to close on Friday to clean and disinfect.
Singapore has reported a total of 58,205 COVID-19 cases to date.
