The Straits Times has launched a digital promotional deal for the individual reader, with its latest subscription offer as part of the ST renewal.
By paying just $ 9.90 each month for the One Digital subscription package, subscribers can keep up with current affairs amid economic uncertainty.
The simple package allows readers to log in to access all ST content through a web browser and an application at the same time. Complete with a new look, the updated website displays multimedia content and hot topics.
The One Digital package does not come with a contract.
Those who prefer the look of a printed newspaper can access the e-paper. A two-week archive allows readers to catch up on news that was missed.
“With the introduction of the ST One Digital promotional package, we hope to offer readers on the go a hassle-free subscription option that gives them the right access they need, at an affordable price,” said Eric Ng. deputy director of the circulation division of Singapore Press Holdings.
One of the first to subscribe to the offering launched on November 17, Miti Garg, associate professor at the PSB Academy, said it helps her stay on top of her interests in entrepreneurship and property.
Although the 47-year-old Garg ended her subscription to ST in July, she was drawn to the more “profitable” new offering. “Instead of making newspapers gather dust in a corner, I now have an eco-friendly and inexpensive way to read the news digitally,” he added.
Now you can enjoy an investing section that was updated at the ST renewal as of October 15, with a focus on jobs and the usual personal finance tips.
Readers can also receive investment advice through the Invest newsletter and selected episodes of The Big Story daily talk show.
The updated ST app has a new Discover section that features short visual stories optimized for mobile devices.
A new News Focus section on Saturdays contains lengthy reads on Asian Insider, where ST’s overseas offices look at big regional stories, and Insight, which looks at issues affecting Singaporeans.
The revamped Sunday Times has a new Views segment featuring pieces from veteran ST journalists, as well as younger voices and millennials in the newsroom.
Another reader, Mr. Ong Jun Jie, 40, said the new package satisfied his preference for reading the electronic document.
The individual approach to the product was also timely, saving you the hassle of finding people to share a subscription with.
“I’ve been reading ST since my school days. I like it because of its coverage of world events with an Asian lens,” said the marketer.
