SINGAPORE: The work passes of three work permit holders and one S pass holder have been revoked after they failed to comply with stay-at-home notification requirements in the past three months, said on Friday (November 20) the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

They left their places of residence without valid reasons and without applying for MOM’s permission during the stay-at-home notice period.

“Two work pass holders who left their residences with warnings to stay at home were detected by the Smartwatch issued by MOM,” the ministry said in a press release.

“The other two holders of work passes, who delivered the notice to stay at home in special facilities and were not required to use the Smartwatch, were denounced by a member of the public and an employer.”

A total of 44 work passes have been revoked since May 1 after failing to comply with the stay-at-home notification requirements, MOM said, adding that the majority of work pass holders have met the requirements.

“MOM reminds all work pass holders and their employers to comply with the quarantine order or stay-at-home notice requirements,” the ministry said.

Those who fail to do so, including people who tamper with or remove the electronic monitoring device during the quarantine order or stay-at-home notice period, will be subject to prosecution, MOM said.

“MOM will continue to take enforcement actions against job pass holders who do not meet the requirements, including revocation of job passes,” the ministry added.
