A hearse carrying a coffin collided with a ComfortDelGro taxi along Mandai Road at 10:45 am last Friday.

Roads.sg posted about the accident on Facebook. A van also crashed into the back of the taxi.

Tammy Tan, director of corporate communications for the ComfortDelGro group, said the taxi was traveling straight on Mandai Road when the hearse, traveling in the lane in the opposite direction, veered into the taxi lane and collided with its hood.

She added: “The van behind our taxi failed to stop in time and rear-ended our taxi.”

Ms. Tan said that the taxi driver, who has seen a doctor and is on sick leave, called the police and the ambulance because he was worried about his passenger because he was feeling bad.

The Singapore Civil Defense Force told The New Paper that they were alerted to the accident at 10.55am at the junction of Mandai Road and Meng Suan Road.

Paramedics evaluated the woman for minor injuries and did not take her to hospital.

Ms. Tan said that ComfortDelGro will assist the police in their investigations.

TNP called the funeral company listed on the hearse, but a man who answered the phone claimed the accident occurred last month and declined to comment further.
