SINGAPORE: A new pass aimed at foreign tech industry experts will be launched in January as part of efforts to develop Singapore’s tech ecosystem, the Economic Development Board (EDB) said on Thursday (Nov 12).
A total of 500 Tech.Pass slots will be available for applications upon launch, EDB said in the press release, adding that the program aims to attract “founders, leaders and technical experts with experience from established or established technology companies. fast growth”. ”.

Pass holders will have the flexibility to participate in activities such as starting and operating a business, or being an investor, employee, consultant or director in companies based in Singapore. They can also act as mentors for startups or lecture at local universities.
To be eligible, applicants must meet at least two of the following requirements:
– Have a last fixed monthly salary drawn in the last year of at least S $ 20,000
– Have at least five cumulative years of experience in a leadership role in a technology company with a valuation or market capitalization of at least $ 500 million or at least $ 30 million in financing.
– Have at least five cumulative years of experience in a leadership role in the development of a technology product that has at least 100,000 monthly active users or at least US $ 100 million in revenue.
The Tech.Pass will be valid for two years and can be renewed once, if the renewal criteria are met, for another two years thereafter, EDB said.

“This is part of Singapore’s multi-pronged approach to building a strong base of talent and technology companies to ensure Singapore remains globally competitive,” said EDB.
The program will also create more opportunities for local tech talent to work in globally competitive teams alongside top tech talent from around the world, he added.
Tech.Pass is an extension of the Tech @ SG program that was launched in 2019. Both programs make it easy for fast-growing tech companies and established tech talent to enter Singapore to benefit the local tech ecosystem with their expertise and network.
