Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has grappled with the match schedule and said that set the club up for failure, following a 3-1 win against Everton on Saturday.
United won just two of their first seven Premier League games of the season and back-to-back losses against Arsenal, in Solskjaer’s 100th match in charge of the club, and Istanbul Basaksehir led to speculation about their future at Old Trafford.

However, United responded with a 3-1 away win at Goodison Park to ease the pressure on Solskjaer and launched late in the match on the schedule he had to face.
“We were prepared to fail,” he said. “They set the guys up to fail. We were in Turkey Wednesday night, we played Saturday lunchtime, it’s an absolute disaster.
“I can’t praise the boys enough for the character they have shown. Those boys deserve better than being thrown out here to fail today. The authorities set us up to fail.
“You have Liverpool and Manchester City, play on Tuesday, they play on Sunday. Who is responsible? I had enough.”
Bruno Fernandes was the winner of the match with two goals and one assist for Edinson Cavani.
“The most important thing for me as No. 10 is to serve my teammates, like I did at the end with Cavani,” Fernandes said after the game.
“I had the opportunity to shoot and look for the hat trick, but I see it alone. And if Marcus can score the second goal, it is not a problem for me. Everyone should be leaders.”
