Koufu apologized to a man who expressed his disgust at the bathroom conditions at his Block 478 Tampines Street 44 store.
Stomper Donald was in Koufu on October 19 at 8.45pm and, being disgusted with the state of the toilet, shared photos with Stomp.
The photos show a broken toilet seat next to a urine-filled toilet bowl.
“I felt angry and disgusted with those bathroom conditions, especially since we live in a country like Singapore,” Donald said.
He added that he did not inform Koufu about what he saw.
In response to a query from Stomp, a Koufu spokesperson said: “We are committed to maintaining good sanitation and hygiene practices for the comfort of our customers when they visit our establishment at Block 478 Tampines Street 44.
“We have investigated and discovered the removal of the damaged toilet bowl lid on October 19. The damaged toilet bowl lid has been replaced on October 20.”
The spokesperson added that the bathroom in that particular drain is cleaned and disinfected twice a day and the floor is cleaned every hour.
“We would like to sincerely apologize to the customer who had the unpleasant encounter that day,” the spokesperson added.
