In his sentencing, Judge Chan Seng Onn said that he considered the trial judge’s decision to be “unsafe” and referred to the family’s “improper motive” for filing the police report against Ms Parti.

Shanmugam, told Parliament on Wednesday that the Attorney General’s Office, beginning with this case, will seriously consider investigating allegations of perjury or other serious crimes if such findings emerge in sentences or decisions in legal proceedings. .
Karl Liew, who is out on $ 15,000 bail, is represented by attorney Adam Maniam of Drew & Napier, who asked for six weeks to render representations on the case.

For giving false information to a public servant, a criminal can be imprisoned for up to six months and fined up to $ 5,000.
Those convicted of presenting false evidence during a judicial process can be imprisoned for up to seven years and fined.
