Having the right seasonings can make or break a meal (especially for all you die-hard chili fans).
But one woman learned the hard way that publicly criticizing Foodpanda for not giving her a full refund for a missing packet of chili is probably not the best way to go.
The woman’s spiel, posted on the Facebook group page Complaint Singapore today (November 5), drew an enthusiastic response from netizens – that is, in support of Foodpanda.
In stating her complaints, the woman said that yesterday (November 4) she had ordered chicken rice with an extra packet of chili through the food delivery platform.
The food was for an elderly neighbor who didn’t know how to order food online and had asked for her help, she said.
“To make sure that [got] the order I wanted, I messaged online customer service and got customer service to confirm they had called the restaurant and [would] adhere to the order “.
Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the arroz con pollo came without the extra packet of chili.
Dissatisfied with the $ 4 coupon offered by Foodpanda as compensation, she complained: “I am calling to cancel my order because I wanted my extra packet of chili and I had done everything I could to make sure it was fulfilled. [sic]”
She was also upset that the customer service executive allegedly stated that she “should be happy” with the $ 4 coupon, as she had not been charged more for her special order of just chicken wing parts.
Determined to get the absent chili packet by hook or by crook, the woman apparently even drove to the restaurant so her neighbor wouldn’t be disappointed.
It would have been great if there was a “full refund” on the $ 9.80 order, he added, but it was the “lack of customer support [sic]”That really infuriated her.
She concluded: “Foodpanda, you have a great delivery platform, don’t let your incompetent staff spoil it.”
While he may have been expecting a surge of support online, his spiel quickly generated hundreds of incredulous comments against him.
Many came to the defense of Foodpanda, pointing out that their anger was disproportionate and wrong.
Well, hopefully this is the last time a chili is burned.
