Residents living on the seventh floor of Block 185A Woodlands Street 13 experienced ankle-deep flooding along the corridor after water gushed from the wet riser on Sunday (November 1).

In the video, a GrabFood delivery man can be seen wading through the water to make his delivery.

The video is then moved to the ground and the hallway can be seen completely flooded with water.
The video also shows water gushing out of the wet riser.
In response to a query from Stomp, a spokesperson for the Marsiling-Yew Tee City Council said their conservation team notified them on Sunday (November 1) at 4.03pm that water was gushing from the wet elevator room on level 7 from Block 185A Woodlands. 13TH Street.
“The city council immediately informed our fire protection trader to address the matter and alerted the Essential Maintenance Service Unit (EMSU),” the spokesperson added.
“Our conservation cleaners also immediately mobilized to the affected area to clean the water from the common corridor area.
“The merchant arrived at the scene at 4.30 pm and managed to stop the flow of water by temporarily closing the valve.
“Further investigation revealed that the wet riser pump feed end point joint gasket gave way, causing water to gush out.”
The spokesperson stated that the faulty gasket has since been replaced on Monday (Nov 2).
He added that the City Council also visited the affected neighbors that same day to assist them with the documentation of the damage suffered to their personal effects, such as carpets and food items.
